FALL BUILD DAY

October 23, 2009
by austinhabitat

photoFinally some cooler Fall weather- what better way to enjoy it then helping us build a home for a family that needs it?

Coming out for a build day is a great way to spend a saturday outside- meeting great people, and helping the community- and it’s a lot of fun!

In addition, this Saturday will be catered by the good folks at Chango’s Burritos so bring your appetite! See you there!

WHEN: Saturday, October 24th

TIME: arrive at 8:00 am and be prepared to stay until 4:00 pm although we could break sooner

TO SIGN UP: Email Jeremy Turner

WHERE: 2411 Devonshire Dr.

ATTIRE: Wear closed toe shoes and whatever keeps you cool.  Shorts and sleeveless tops are allowed.

VERY IMPORTANT: If you have never volunteered with Habitat For Humanity you will need to register online. Instructions are noted below

This just in from AHFH’s Director of Volunteer Services: volunteers who have registered on-line don’t need to re-register each year (if you have completed on-line orientation/registration in the past two years, then you are covered – you may want to update your contact info though).  However, EVERY volunteer must submit the Liability Waiver, annually.  So EVERY volunteer must submit a new liability waiver for 2009. The waiver is available on-line here, and hard copies are always on each job site.  If you choose to circulate this waiver, please include a note that anyone who has not registered and completed orientation on-line in the past two years, must still do so.  Let me know if you have questions on the paperwork/registration process.

All information on Volunteer on-line orientation/registration and waivers can be found here: http://www.austinhabitat.org/volunteer/index.php

We will be building every Saturday through November 21st so come on out!
